The Little House of Science

The Little House of Science offers classes for curious young minds; by introducing science earlier and supplementing knowledge gained from school, our children's minds will be fuelled by fascination and curiosity to learn more about the world around them.

London-based classes include:

Little Discovery, aimed at younger children between 6 and 24 months. This class focuses on sensory stimulation; textures, sounds and music. Themes are different each week and include a nature-related topic, such as bees and frogs. A fantastic introduction to very young children.

Little Maths is based on boosting children's confidence with quantities and numbers. It combines activities incorporating shapes, music and colours and topics covered include planets and dinosaurs. Perfect for children between the ages of 2-4.

Little Science is for children between 3 and 8 years old and sessions include take home projects, working together as a team and performing their own investigations and experiments. Topics covered include an introduction to gravity and the world's greatest scientists and their associated work.

Big Science is a great class for children between 8 and 11 years of age and aims to supplement their existing knowledge by discussing topics such as the environment and engineering in more age-appropriate detail with science teachers. They can engage in more investigations and it really encourages scientific thought processes.

Tomorrow's scientists

Rob and Lily would have an absolute field day participating in these classes, we are keen for our children to have an interest in the world around them and it is fantastic that the Little House of Science is available for children today. If you are London-based I recommend you have a look at the classes they offer. You can join a free trial and even receive sibling discounts.
If you don't happen to live in the catchment area for classes, don't worry as the Little House of Science now offers a management franchise which focuses on business expansion whilst employees run the classes. So hopefully there will be opportunities for more youngsters to engage in these workshops and classes in schools and nurseries across the UK not before long.

Notable associations:
The Little House of Science is partnered with The Insititute of Physics for an annual "Little Science" award. A wonderful opportunity to celebrate youngsters broadening their knowledge. In addition, this year the Little House of Science provided demonstrations and experiments at the Royal Society's annual Summer Exhibition.
