Tucking in | The Ordinary Moments

This week I am joining in with a blog linky called The Ordinary Moments by mummydaddymeandmemakesthree. Here is how Katie describes this linky:

{the ordinary moments}
‘The simple things in life are often the sweetest.  While the fancy days out, weekends away or holidays are fun, it’s the ordinary moments I will miss when my children are all grown up.  The snuggling in bed reading a story.  The giggles as they run around my overgrown garden with the grass that desperately needs a cut.  Even the naughty ones.  The ones we all have.
Just a photo from your week.
The simple
The exciting.
The imperfect.
The Ordinary Moments.’
 This post is just about Alexander's love of food. Not all food, mind. He is what we call, a 'salad dodger', but he doesn't really know that he is having a balanced diet thanks to hidden veggie sauces and the like. In this case, it is ice cream. I love watching him tucking into his food, and watching the expressions of enjoyment on his face. He made a slight mess with this ice cream cone but Rob and I are laid back when it comes to bibs. Clothes go in the washing machine and hands, faces and surfaces get wiped down, even legs if necessary. I think the photos show just how much he got into his ice cream - which was actually mine, he started wailing for it and before I gave it to him he pretty much snatched it out of my hands before getting stuck in. At one point he will be way beyond the age of getting himself ridiculously messy, unless he grows a beard as a young man (!), so for now I am happy to allow him to explore with his food, have treats now and again, even if he turns into a mucky pup.

  1. I have two little girls that have a big aversion to vegetables as well. And you are so right, it is definitely nice to see them enjoying food, even if it is the sweet stuff. He looks like he is thoroughly enjoying that ice cream, bless his heart.

    PS Don't worry about a badge, I don't really have one anymore! xx

  2. I love it when they first really get into food and find things they really love. Obviously ice cream is always a winner! x
