14-18 weeks pregnancy update

14--18 weeks update and 18 week bump shot

How I am feeling:

Symptoms:

I decided there wasn't really enough to vlog for weeks 14-17, hence the significant gap! Holidays, life and general stuff have also been in the way of a good sit down vlog and write up, even though now I have vlogged I am in the midst of DIY and painting!
I have been feeling little pops more and more, initially wondering whether it was gas though! When I lay down I have my hip bones protuding then my abdomen gently begins to rise into a slight bump, which sometimes looks like it is a bit lopsided some mornings.
Last Tuesday, at 17 weeks + 5 days I experienced some bleeding which I elaborate more on in my vlog post at the bottom of the post. It turned out to be a cervica ectropian, so I may expect some more bleeding before/during/after the birth.
The anomaly scan is approaching and although I have felt Team Green before the bleed, the worry and panic has made me indecisive. Maybe after that ordeal I do actually want to know the gender so I can bond. I know the bleed wasn't to do with my womb, just my cervix but when it was all happening I wasn't sure what was going on. My mind just associated a bleed at 17+ weeks as something sinister.
Our maternity hospital seems to have a bad rep lately with not providing gender details if they are requested, or simply gauging it as '50/50' which anyone can tell you. This has led a few people to book private gender scans. I understand that above everything else, the anomaly scan is to look for just that, anomalies. Does the baby have the right organs in the right place and the right number? Does the baby have all of it's limbs and spine? Gender is just an after-thought of the scan, but for many people it is what the 20 week scan is all about. We shall see how the scan goes and maybe gauge the atmosphere. That is if we decide whether to find out. And Rob certainly wants to know!

Food:

All food is good at the moment! Particularly been enjoying broccoli and stilton soup, gherkins in homemade burger buns and Haribo gummie sweets.

Skin:

Skin is doing alright; I am paying it the attention it deserves but in the recent warm weather my foundation can get a bit slick and I hate that feeling and can't wait to remove it.

Embryo development:

Vitamins and supplements:

1 x folic acid
1 x low-dose 75mg aspirin per day

What I'm wearing:

Normal clothes
