Festival Ready Make Up

Last Friday we attended our first festival as a family - CarFest UK which brought together some great music, zooming cars and some incredibly yummy food.

It was a lovely hot day and even though we just went for the Friday I decided I didn't want too much makeup on. Simple makeup and loose hair was the aim of the day and I was glad I made that call - any more and my makeup could have glided off under the hot sunshine.

Skin Prep:

I wiped my face and neck over with a cotton pad moistened with micellar water for sensitive skin, spritzed with La Roche Posay Serozinc spray toner and applied Boots Botanics Triple Age Renewal eye cream. I let that sink in a bit before I started with base products otherwise the eye cream tends to go tacky and drag.

Base Makeup:

I used a Real Techniques buffing brush to blend L'Oreal True Match foundation in shade 1N into my face and down my neck, and set it with Maybelline Matte Maker powder using a RT big fluffy powder brush. I concentrate on my eye area too to set the foundation there. No concealer today, this was a simple, throw it on and go make up look. I used one of my favourite blushers on the apples of my cheeks from an Estee Lauder palette 'Pure Color Blush in Peach Passion';

Eye make up:

L'oreal Paris ColorAppeal Platinum eyeshadow in 'Pure Gold' just applied using my fingers to my upper eyelids plus a tiny smidgen on my lower lash line, followed by Long Lash black mascara by SEVENTEEN. This has been my favourite mascara over the course of the summer; it adds definition to each lash, certainly lengthens but it is particularly a winner for me as it doesn't create any smudges on the skin beneath my eyes from long lashes brushing. This could also depend on the base coat and the condition my under eye skin is in. It goes through phases of oily to dry.

At publication of this blog this amazing mascara was on offer at Boots!

Nails:

Two coats of Natural Collection nail polish in the shade 'Hibiscus' and I am done!
