Blackcurrant Cordial and The Loch | #LittleLoves

I haven't written a #LittleLoves post in absolutely ages. I guess mum of three life has just got busy, but I am trying to grab some time to type something and take a few pictures here and there. After all, it is nice to reflect on what we have been enjoying lately.

I haven't picked up a book in some time but I have been enjoying reading the Usborne Phonics Readers with Lily and Alexander. I rather like the stories which feature Big Pig and Fat Cat and Alex loves finding the duckling hidden somewhere on each page.

I'm continuing 'The Loch' on Sunday nights but it seems the most gripping scenes are the snippets for the next episode, which then ends up being a bit of a damp squib in my opinion. I'm continuing to watch it, but it doesn't make me excited. Hopefully it gets better!

After blackcurrant picking  at the weekend I decided to make blackcurrant cordial. I put some welly into sieving the jammy fruit so the cordial syrup didn't end up as smooth as I'd liked, so in a lemonade it would sink unless it was stirred. Ideal with some gin too!

I've been wearing my LaLa Beads a few times this week. They save my hair from being pulled by Freyja when she is feeding plus brighten up an outfit. The colour reminds me of tennis balls which is fitting for Wimbledon season.

A LOT of Despacito on the radio lately! Alexander enjoys a little boogie :)

It has been a week of unpredictable weather. I have seen UGG boots and skinny jeans worn on the school runs, and waterproof coats, then cold-shoulder dresses. That is the Great British weather in July for you! The rain cancelled Lily's sports day but we'll hopefully enjoy it next week if the sun shines.
Have a great weekend, thanks for reading!

  1. I'm also loving The Loch, but do struggle to keep up with it sometimes. That collection of clips about next episode has me so confused - can't wait to see what happens :) #LittleLoves

  2. The blackcurrant cordial sounds interesting, and I'll have to look into those books as we're on to learning phonics at home now. I hope you've been having a lovely weekend.

  3. I really enjoyed The Loch, I've been watching it on catch up while cooking the dinner on a Monday evening. I thought the last one was good and I didn't figure it all out until near the end.
    Have a lovely week! xx
