Miffy's Adventures Big and Small

It's the iconic white rabbit's 60th birthday this year and to celebrate, a new TV series "Miffy's Adventures Big and Small" featuring a new and improved Miffy is now available to watch every evening at 7pm on Tiny Pop.

The classic hand-drawn simplistic design made synonymous by Miffy's author and illustrator, Dick Bruna has undergone a CGI-makeover to appeal to the next generation of preschool plus Miffy fans.
Did you know that Miffy is a worldwide renowned character? 85 million copies of Bruna's adorable creation have been sold all across the globe, so it's no wonder why Miffy is available in over 50 languages and boasts its own merchandise and television programmes.

Together with her best friends Grunty and Melanie plus Snuffy the dog, Miffy enjoys going on adventures, learning more about the world around her.
In the episode Lily and I watched, named "Dan's Lost Toy", the themes covered were sharing, the idea of "finders, keepers" and misunderstandings. Miffy was very thoughtful and kind when she discovered that Grunty had found Dan's jack-in-the-box "Jack" and helped smooth out any misunderstandings that may have arisen; highlighting what was a simple mistake and the thought processes which an early years school-age child can go through.

Lily likened Miffy to her cuddly Jellycat white rabbit "Biddy", so this made the cartoon even more entrancing to watch. She was very engaged throughout the episode and is keen to watch more episodes. Lily even starting to sing the theme tune but adapted it to " Biddy! The sweet little bunny"

Both Lily and I would recommend watching it, particularly if you have preschool plus aged children. Miffy is so sweet and likeable, it is no wonder that she is the world's best-loved bunny rabbit. Now I wonder whether to buy Lily some Miffy books which have all been updated, featuring texts by award-winning British poet Tony Mitton.

Miffy's Adventures Big and Small airs at 7pm on TinyPop, available to watch on Freeview channel 126, Sky channel 617, Virgin media channel 737 and Freesat 605. In addition, Miffy the Movie is available from iTunes and Google Play.
