Bottersnikes & Gumbles on CBBC

Bottersnikes & Gumbles is a new kid's series which is coming to the CBBC screens on 25th July this year.

If your child likes monsters, particularly stinky, lazy and rude ones then they will love Bottersnikes. Adults also watching will recognise the voice of "Weathersnike" as Miriam Margoyles of 'Blackadder' and 'Harry Potter' fame.

Bottersnikes are scaly and grumpy but Gumbles are lovely and cute
Bottersnikes are grumpy, foul-tempered and scaly whilst Gumbles are far cuter, smart and gigglesome.

But not all of the characters are foul-tempered; the Gumbles are the complete polar opposite and are lovely, happy beings. Cue the heroes - Tink, Bounce and Willi. And if your 6+ year old also loves conversing in a made-up language, they'll be able to add "Gumble" speak to their vocabulary too! Oh Crumbleguts!

Gumble characters
Gumbles are capable of squishing themselves into any shape but need all the help they can get if they get completely flattened!

In their shared home of abandoned junk, endless battles ensue since the Bottersnikes are intent on putting the jolly Gumbles to work (once they have had a snack of rusty nails), when all the Gumbles want to do is have a 'gumble' around their valley created of junk, minding their own business.

Bottersnikes & Gumbles has been created as a CGI-animation based on the 1970s classic children's books by Australian author S.A Wakefield with illustrations by Desmond Digby. So far the series has already been awarded the Pulcinella Award for Best Kids TV Series, so it sounds like something not to be missed.

Bottersnikes & Gumbles begins on 25th July at 6 pm CBBC
